The Woodstock
is made from untreated New Zealand plantation grown Radiate Pine. It
is a rustic solid timber casket in a similar price bracket to commonly
used MDF / plastic coffins. The finish is dressed timber and it is constructed
in a simple manor without glued edge joins - like something a family
might make if they had the time. A rail handle is integrated into the
design enabling more people to help carry it - this could be an opportunity
to enable children to participate in the ceremony. The lid is secured
with wooden dowels. The mattress is recycled wool padding with a calico
cover.

The RD1
is a conventional shape and is lined with a wool fleece mattress. It
is made from untreated plantation grown Radiata Pine - an iconic New
Zealand material. For an open casket, the lid can be attached to the
side (looks like it is hinged open). When closed it is locked with wooden
dowels which are supplied. The casket is built to a high standard by
furniture craftsmen and is supplied sanded without oils or waxes. |
